In alignment with U.S. Soccer and SafeSport requirements
Purpose
One FC is committed to providing a safe, structured, and high-performance environment that prioritizes player development, respect, and integrity. Every member of our community — coaches, players, and parents/guardians — plays a vital role in upholding the values that define our club. This Code of Conduct establishes the standards expected of all participants across all One FC programs and regions nationwide.
Our core values are: Respect, Discipline, Sportsmanship, Accountability, and Excellence.
Section I — Coaches Code of Conduct
Professionalism & Leadership
Coaches must act as positive role models at all times, demonstrating professionalism, respect, patience, and integrity both on and off the field. Coaches are responsible for creating a structured and disciplined environment that promotes player development and genuine enjoyment of the game.
Respect for All Participants
Coaches must show respect toward players, parents, referees, opponents, and club staff at all times. Match officials must be supported and their decisions accepted without dissent. All communication with referees must be respectful and professional. Any concerns must be addressed through the appropriate league or governing body channels. Coaches must not address opposing players directly.
Player Development & Welfare
Coaches must prioritize the long-term development, well-being, and safety of each player above short-term results. Every player must be provided with a positive learning environment where they are encouraged to develop skills, confidence, and decision-making abilities. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Use of intimidation, humiliation, or negative reinforcement as a coaching method
- Physical punishment or any behavior that may cause physical or emotional harm to a player
Sideline & Match Conduct
Coaches are responsible for the behavior of their players and associated spectators during matches and training sessions. Coaches must:
- Ensure a respectful and controlled environment at all times
- Refrain from entering the field of play unless authorized by the referee
- Communicate with officials only in a respectful and appropriate manner
Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited at any One FC event, match, training session, or club-related activity:
- Use of abusive, obscene, vulgar, racial, or discriminatory language
- Harassment, intimidation, or any form of bullying
- Dissent or abuse toward referees or match officials
- Physical aggression or threats of violence
- Use of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco during any club-related activity
- Coaching or supervising players while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Responsibility for Environment
Coaches are responsible for maintaining a positive and safe environment for all participants. This includes proactively addressing inappropriate behavior from players or spectators and taking action when necessary. Coaches must promote sportsmanship and ensure that all participants understand and follow the club's codes of conduct.
Health, Safety & SafeSport Compliance
Coaches must comply with all Safe Soccer policies established by U.S. Soccer and the U.S. Center for SafeSport. All required certifications, background checks, and credentials must be completed and valid prior to participation. Coaches are responsible for player safety and must be prepared to respond appropriately to injuries or emergencies at all times.
Commitment & Preparation
Coaches are expected to be prepared, punctual, and fully engaged in all training sessions and matches. Coaches must provide structured, high-quality training sessions and maintain clear, respectful communication with players and parents. Coaches must uphold the standards and philosophy of One FC at all times.
Disciplinary Actions
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including verbal warnings, suspension, removal from coaching duties, or termination. Sanctions will be applied in accordance with U.S. Soccer policies and applicable misconduct guidelines.
Agreement
By serving as a coach with One FC, I agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and to contribute to a professional, respectful, and development-focused soccer environment.
Section II — Players Code of Conduct
Respect for All
Players must show respect to coaches, teammates, opponents, referees, and spectators at all times. This includes:
- Accepting decisions made by referees without argument or dissent
- Treating all participants with dignity regardless of skill level, background, or outcome
- Engaging with opponents as competitors deserving of respect, not adversaries
Sportsmanship
Players are expected to demonstrate fair play in every situation:
- Win with humility and lose with grace
- Actively encourage teammates and promote a positive team culture
- Never engage in unsportsmanlike conduct of any kind
Behavior On & Off the Field
Players must maintain appropriate behavior during games, training, and all team events. Players are ambassadors of One FC and must represent the club with professionalism at all times — whether on the field, at team events, or in their communities.

Social Media & Digital Conduct
Players are expected to represent One FC positively in all digital spaces:
- Refrain from posting content that is offensive, abusive, or harmful to others
- Avoid any form of online harassment or misconduct
- Understand that digital behavior is a direct extension of conduct on the field
Commitment & Professionalism
Players are expected to:
- Attend trainings and matches consistently and on time
- Give full effort during every session
- Follow coaches' instructions and team guidelines at all times
- Communicate respectfully with staff, coaches, and teammates
Health, Safety & SafeSport Compliance
Players must follow all SafeSport and U.S. Soccer safety policies and report any unsafe or inappropriate behavior to a coach or club representative immediately. All participants are required to respect health and safety guidelines across all club activities.
Disciplinary Actions
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in a verbal warning, suspension from training or matches, removal from team activities, or expulsion from the club. Sanctions will be applied in accordance with U.S. Soccer policies and misconduct guidelines.
Agreement
By joining One FC, I agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and to represent the club with integrity, respect, and professionalism at all times.
Section III — Parents & Guardians Code of Conduct
Be Supportive
Parents and guardians are expected to support their child's participation in a positive and encouraging manner. Players join One FC to develop skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game:
- Applaud effort and improvement, not just outcomes
- Emphasize learning, teamwork, and long-term development over short-term results
- Recognize and appreciate the efforts of coaches, staff, and volunteers
Respect the Game & All Participants
Parents and guardians must show respect to all players, coaches, referees, and fellow spectators at all times. The referee's decisions are final and must be accepted without dispute. Opposing teams are competitors deserving of respect — not targets of criticism or hostility.
Sideline Behavior
Encouragement from the sidelines is welcomed and appreciated. However, coaching from the sidelines is not permitted. Parents and guardians must not provide tactical instructions during games or training sessions, as players must receive direction solely from their coaches to ensure a consistent and professional environment.
Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited at any One FC event, training session, or match:
- Use of abusive, obscene, vulgar, racial, or derogatory language
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination toward any participant
- Taunting, ridiculing, or threatening players, coaches, referees, or spectators
- Physical aggression or any form of violence
- Addressing or confronting referees regarding decisions, except in emergencies related to player safety
- Throwing objects or engaging in behavior that creates a safety risk
Social Media & Communication
Parents and guardians are expected to communicate respectfully with coaches, staff, and other families at all times. Public criticism, negative commentary, or inappropriate content directed at the club, its players, or officials on social media or any other platform is not acceptable and will be treated as a violation of this Code of Conduct.
Commitment to a Positive Environment
Parents and guardians are role models, and their behavior directly influences every player in our community. Disruptive behavior that interferes with training sessions, matches, or the experience of other families will not be tolerated.
Health, Safety & SafeSport Compliance
All parents and guardians must adhere to U.S. Soccer and SafeSport safety policies. Any concerns regarding player safety or misconduct should be reported promptly to club staff through appropriate and calm channels.
Disciplinary Actions
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in a verbal warning, removal from a training or match environment, suspension from attending club events, or further action in accordance with U.S. Soccer policies.
Agreement
By registering a player with One FC, I agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and to support the club's mission to provide a professional, respectful, and development-focused soccer environment.
