Thanksgiving Soccer Camp in Boston: Ball Mastery and Finishing with ONE FC

Thanksgiving break is a great time for family, food and rest. It is also the perfect moment for young players to keep improving. This year, ONE FC Boston is hosting a Thanksgiving Soccer Camp focused on two skills that make the biggest difference on the field: ball mastery and finishing.

The camp runs Friday, November 27 to Sunday, November 29, 2026, from 9am to 12pm each day. It takes place indoors at The Governor's Academy in Byfield, so the weather won't get in the way.

Why Ball Mastery and Finishing?

Ball mastery is the base of everything in soccer. A player who is comfortable on the ball with both feet can receive under pressure, keep possession, beat a defender and see the game more clearly. It takes many repetitions to build this, and that is exactly what this camp offers.

Finishing is the skill that wins games. Many young players get into good positions but lack the technique or the calm to score. Learning how to place a shot, strike the ball cleanly and stay composed in front of goal gives players confidence that carries into every match.

Together, these two skills help players of every level take a real step forward in just three days.

What Players Will Work On

Each session mixes focused technical work with fun, competitive games:

  • Ball mastery: many repetitions with both feet, including sole rolls, inside and outside touches, and turns
  • First touch: receiving cleanly and setting up the next action under light pressure
  • Dribbling and 1v1: changing pace and direction to beat defenders
  • Finishing: scoring from different angles and distances, with good placement and composure
  • Striking technique: body shape, plant foot and contact for a strong, repeatable shot
  • Small sided games: every day, so players use their new skills in real game situations

Led by Former MLS First Overall Pick Robbie Robinson

The camp is led by Robbie Robinson, Club Director of ONE FC Boston, with support from the ONE FC Boston coaching staff.

Robbie knows what it takes to reach the top. At Clemson University, he won the MAC Hermann Trophy, the highest individual award in college soccer, and was named ACC Offensive Player of the Year after scoring 18 goals in 2019. He was then selected first overall in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft by Inter Miami CF, becoming the first draft pick in the club's history, and went on to play in MLS with Inter Miami.

As a forward, finishing was at the heart of his game. Now he shares that experience with young players on the North Shore, following the ONE FC method created by founders Blaise Matuidi, Kieran Gibbs and Sylvain Marveaux.

Who Can Join

The camp is open to boys and girls U8 to U14, of all levels. You do not need to be a ONE FC player. Players from any club, or no club at all, are welcome.
